Alabama mother and son Teeneshia Bush and Quenterus Brown noticed employees at their local Wendy’s were laughing at Quenterus as they sat eating their food. They were clueless as to what they workers had put on their receipt.
“It hurt my feeling, it made me cry. I was embarrassed, and I felt bad.” Teeneshia took to Facebook to express her disappointment in the employees and their actions.
“You don’t go around making fun of people, you don’t know their situation,” she said. Her son is mentally challenged, and already gets teased for his disability. After the post went viral, Wendy’s director of management services- Ed Sheffeild apologized for the horrible act.
‘We apologized to the young man and his mother and look forward to welcoming them back to Wendy’s again.” said Sheffeild. How is it that an establishment can get away with bullying a customer who helps keep them all employed? Oh America, we’ve got to do better.
